South Korea Revises GHS Classification List

South Korea’s NICS has amended the GHS Classification List, revising 5 previously listed entries, adding classification information of 74 newly designated hazardous substances, and setting grace periods to update MSDSs and labels (most by Jan 1, 2027, sodium hypochlorite by Jan 1, 2028).

On March 27, 2026, South Korea's National Institute of Chemical Safety (NICS) issued the partial amendment to the GHS Classification List. Promulgated under the Act on Registration and Evaluation of Chemical Substances (K-REACH) and the Chemical Control Act (K-CCA), this amendment revises the listings of 5 previously listed chemical substances and officially adds classification and labelling information of 74 newly designated hazardous substances.
