Taiwan has developed the CHEMical Information System and Tool (CHEMIST) for managing online new & existing chemical registration. A beta version is now under pilot run due on 20 Sep 2014.
Only Taiwanese local entities (manufacturers, importers and ORs) will be eligible to submit dossiers through the registration tool CHEMIST platform. However, the tool is accessible to all companies, providing bilingual support in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
CHEMIST is not compatible with IUCLID although the data formats look very similar. CHEMIST includes several application forms for different registration types including standard registration, simplified registration, and low-volume registration. It should be noted that a special data format is designed for nano-materials.
Currently, a condensed installation package of the beta version is available for download here with part of the operating interface inaccessible. Stakeholders are welcome to submit feedbacks to [email protected].
