UK HSE Proposes Mandatory Classification and Labeling for 60 Hazardous Substances, Including PFHxA

The proposed amendments to the GB MCL List introduce new and revised classification and labeling for 60 hazardous substances, with mandatory compliance expected by Q4 2028.

On January 26, 2026, the United Kingdom's Health and Safety Executive (HSE) notified the WTO of the proposed mandatory classification and labelling of 60 hazardous chemical substances, inviting stakeholders to comment by March 27, 2026. If adopted (expected Q2 2026), they will be integrated into the Great Britain (GB) Mandatory Classification and Labelling (MCL) List. The proposed new and revised entries for 60 hazardous chemical substances are based on the scientific and technical assessments by HSE under the GB CLP Regulation.
