Updated New Chemical Substances Hazard Assessment Results under K-REACH

On April 27, 2022, South Korea’s National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) issued NIER Announcement No.2022-17¹, making public the amendments to the hazard assessment results of new chemical substances registered under K-REACH, which came into effect immediately.

The updates are specified as below:

• Adding hazard assessment results of 123 new chemical substances (Given No. 2022-1 ~ 2022-123), of which 2 substances (Given No. 2022-64, 2022-65) are toxic;

• Updating the hazard properties, classification and labeling information of 54 new chemical substances that were previously assessed and registered under K-REACH;

• Updating the chemical name of one new chemical substance (Given No. 2018-304, CAS No. 5872-08-2) as “7,7-Dimethyl-2-oxobicyclo[2.2.1]heptane-1-methanesulfonic acid”; and

• Deleting 2 items (Given No. 2020-123, 2021-207) to aviod duplication.
