China Notifies WTO of Draft Revision to List of Dangerous Goods (Updated on June 26, 2023)

GB 6944 and GB 12268 were issued for public consultation. They help standardize the system for dangerous goods transportation, storage, distribution, and other related activities in China. Once adopted, the revised standards are expected to take effect 12 months after publication and replace their 2012 versions.

In July of 2023, China MEM required enterprises to fill in Hazchem business information on national platform. Taiwan EPA proposed amendments to the Permit Registration and Approval Regulations for Toxic and Concerned Chemical Substances. South Korea intended to update requirements for low-volume new chemical registration. Australia designated PFOA and decaBDE as chemicals subject to AICIS Authorization. India further delayed QCOs for 10 chemicals. Thailand's FDA notified WTO of the proposed updates of the notification requirements for Type 1 hazardous substances (only for items under the FDA's responsibility) for comments.

China Launches Chemical Information Investigation Targeting Around 4,000 Chemicals

By 30 November 2023, the departments of ecology and environment at provincial level shall report all the submitted information for 2022 to China MEE. From 2024, the corresponding investigation information of the previous year shall be reported to China MEE before 30 April each year.
