K-REACH: 250 PECs Have Lead Registrant Elected

The 8th round of Lead Registrant (LR) election for priority existing chemical substances (PECs) under the Act on the Registration and Evaluation of Chemicals (K-REACH) has finished. The corresponding LR election results were published on 30 Aug of 2016.

In addition to the new publication of LR election results for 14 PECs, 3 PECs (CAS No. 26761-40-0, 95-53-4, 15096-52-3) that previously finished LR election in the previous rounds were deleted since their corresponding LRs chose to opt out.

The previous rounds of LR election are reported as below.

• First round of LR election

• Second round of LR election

• Third round of LR election

• Fourth round of LR election

• Fifth round of LR election

• Sixth round of LR election

• Seventh round of LR election

So far 250 PECs have finished LR election (the list is accessible here). However, there are still 260 PECs requiring LR election (In total 510 PECs). PECs manufactured or imported in quantities greater than 1 ton per year should be jointly registered under K-REACH and registration dossiers are due by 30 Jun 2018.
