NRCC: New Online Registration System to Start from July

The National Registration Center for Chemicals of SAWS (NRCC-SAWS) has informed applying companies of hazardous chemicals that the agency is going to formally launch a new online registration system from 1 July. By then, the old registration platform will no longer accept any application for the “Hazardous Chemicals Registration” in compliance with the SAWS Order 53. However, registrants who have not completed their registration application on the old online system can be granted a grace period till 1 August to continue with the application associated work on the old system.

From 1 August on, the NRCC will shut down the old online system and all applying companies must complete the registration through the new system, including applicants that fail to pass the format or content check on the old registration system.

To get prepared for the software updating, the agency will close both interfaces from 8 am, 28 June to 9 am, 1 July for system maintenance.

Compared with the old version, the new system is more complex and requires more rigorous information of the registrants. The full administrative and technical materials for the application can be viewed at Chemlinked regulatory database – SAWS Notice 144 of 2012: (final version) Application Documents for Hazardous Chemicals Registration
