The revised Act on Registration, Evaluation, etc. of Chemical Substances (K-REACH) entered into force on Jan 1st, 2019. Previously, simplified registration was applied to new chemical substances in quantities less than 1 t/y (2015.1.1~2019.12.31) or less than 0.1 t/y after 2020. After revision, new chemical substances manufactured or imported in low volume below 0.1 t/y only require notification rather than registration [1].
For new chemical substances registered before 2019 in low volume below 0.1 t/y, but which actually exceeded the registered volume, the manufacturer or importer should now submit the Form No.41 of K-REACH Enforcement Rules[2] to report the true volume. Information on annual volume of manufacture/importation that is available from the year of registration, e.g. import records, transaction details, etc. should be attached as proof. In addition, the authority may require additional data for future hazard assessments.
For new chemical notification under the revised K-REACH, the details have been reported by ChemLinked. Plese click here[3] to read more.
