South Korea’s National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) consulted on the results of hazard evaluation of registered new substances by NIER Notice No. 2017-14 on 28 Feb 2017. These substances were issued after K-REACH registration with English chemical name, CAS No., corresponding hazard, classification and labeling information, as well as the determination of toxic chemical classification.
NIER previously issued the hazard evaluation results in two lists, including (1) registered new substances with detailed hazard evaluation results and (2) registered new substances without detailed hazard evaluation results (only chemical name and CAS No. issued) since they pose a lower exposure risk and do not require special attention. This time, major updates were made to better provide information to the public, including:
Incorporate the two lists into one only;
Adjust the given number of previously registered new substances (new given number as 2015-1∼2015-101, 2016-1∼2016-1138);
Add results of hazard evaluation of 191 new substances (given number as 2017-1∼2017-191)
Supplement more hazards information, especially for the substances contained in the previous list (2)
