South Korea to Update Hazard Evaluation Results for New Substances Registered under K-REACH

Note: The proposed updates have been approved by NIER Announcement No. 2017-37 (CL news).

Published on 7 Aug 2017 by NIER Notice No. 2017-276, South Korea’s National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) is now consulting on the results of hazard evaluation of 343 new substances (given number as 2017-451~2017-793). These new substances were registered under K-REACH during April to July 2016.

In addition, the hazard properties and classification details of 28 new substances previously assessed are to be updated. Their given numbers are listed as below:

• 2016-9, 2016-19, 2016-28, 2016-60, 2016-174, 2016-279, 2016-311, 2016-323, 2016-460, 2016-470, 2016-478, 2016-479, 2016-627, 2016-664, 2016-682, 2016-711, 2016-715, 2016-732, 2016-741, 2016-778, 2016-849, 2016-1093, 2017-216, 2017-247, 2017-311, 2017-359, 2017-379, 2017-408

The registered substances were issued with English chemical name, CAS No., corresponding hazard, classification and labeling information, as well as the determination of whether it is classified as toxic chemical.

So far 2,032 new substances registered under K-REACH were issued with corresponding hazard evaluation results (given number as 2015-1∼2015-101, 2016-1∼2016-1138, 2017-1~2017-793).
