South Korea’s GHS Classification List Updated

On 28 Feb 2018, South Korea’s National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) announced the updates of GHS Classification List. Through NIER Announcement No. 2018-5, the classification information, pictograms, hazard statements, M factors or UN No. has been updated for

• 11 toxic substances: Given No. 97-1-111, 97-1-134, 97-1-203, 97-1-208, 97-1-283, 2001-1-524, 2011-1-619, 2014-1-700, 2017-1-764, 2017-1-781, 2017-1-782 (revised)

• 1 prohibited substances: Given No. 06-4-30 (revised)

• 22 toxic substances: Given No. 2017-1-811~2017-1-832 (newly added)

• 28 accident precaution chemicals: Given No. 70~97(newly added) 

The updates came into effect immediately. Please download the updated details of substances here.

The updates have been previously drafted and issued for public consultation by NIER Notice No.2017-436 on 29 Dec 2017 (CL news). Changes to some substances have been made through final publication.
