ECHA Confirms One Hazardous Chemical Added to SVHC List
On November 5, 2025, ECHA’s Member State Committee (MSC) has confirmed the addition of one hazardous chemical to the Candidate List of substances of very high concern (SVHC). The newly added chemical, 1,1'-(ethane-1,2 diyl)bis[pentabromobenzene] (DBDPE), has very persistent and very bioaccumulative properties and is used as a flame retardant in various industries.
