Japan MHLW Releases Revision to List of Poisonous and Deleterious Substances

On June 19, the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) released an amendment to the Cabinet Order on the Designation of Poisonous and Deleterious Substances, [1] adding eight substances into the Deleterious Substances List and removing three from it.

China Releases List of Encouraged Industries for Foreign Investment (2019 Version)

China’s NDRC and MOFCOM jointly released the List of Encouraged Industries for Foreign Investment (2019 version) on June 30. The list will become effective on July 30, 2019 and includes 22 catalogues related to manufacturing of chemical raw materials and chemical products.

China Releases 2019 List of Hazardous Chemicals Prohibited from Inland Waterway Transport

In late May 2019, the Ministry of Transport (MOT), Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE), Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), and the Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM) jointly issued the List of Hazardous Chemicals Prohibited from Inland Waterway Transport (2019). [1] The newly revised list took effect immediately upon its release, and the 2015 version was abrogated at the same time.

Great Changes Made to China’s Solid Waste Pollution Prevention and Control Law

The new draft revision of the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Prevention and Control of Solid Waste Pollution was submitted to the NPC Standing Committee for review for the first time.The Minister of MEE introduced the revised draft at the Standing Committee meeting. In the draft, new requirements concerning domestic waste disposal and hazardous waste management are put forward.

MOFCOM Reinstates Anti-dumping Measures on Toluidine Imported from EU

Starting on June 28, 2019 China MOFCOM reinstated anti-dumping measures on toluidine imported from EU. The anti-dumping tax rate is 19.6% for LANXESS Deutschland GmbH and 36.9% for all other EU companies.
