In February 2024, China started to implement Hazchem traceability codes in Shanghai, South Korea adopted the proposed amendment of K-REACH and K-CCA, Japan listed PFOA isomers, their salts and related compounds under CSCL, India mandated the chemical data reporting on ChemIndia, EU released F-gases Regulations and ODS Regulations to tackle climate change, and the US revised fee rules under TSCA to increase administration fees.

In July of 2023, China MEM required enterprises to fill in Hazchem business information on national platform. Taiwan EPA proposed amendments to the Permit Registration and Approval Regulations for Toxic and Concerned Chemical Substances. South Korea intended to update requirements for low-volume new chemical registration. Australia designated PFOA and decaBDE as chemicals subject to AICIS Authorization. India further delayed QCOs for 10 chemicals. Thailand's FDA notified WTO of the proposed updates of the notification requirements for Type 1 hazardous substances (only for items under the FDA's responsibility) for comments.

On December 30, 2022, China Electronics Standardization Institute started a 15-day public consultation on the draft revision of SJ/T 11364-2014 Marking for the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Product. Four types of phthalates including DIBP, DBP, BBP and DEHP are proposed to be added as restricted substances

China to Add Four Types of Phthalates as Restricted Substances under RoHS Control

China Receives Conformity Assessments for 18,420 Products under China RoHS 2

As of the end of July 2021, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) had received 12,369 conformity assessments submitted on its RoHS public service platform from 1,140 companies, involving 18,420 products, an increase of 2,555 since last December.

China CESI now invites units to join the working group to draft the standard on determining Phthalates in EEPs by high performance liquid chromatography method. In 2019, CESI issued a draft for the association standard of the same name.
