China On June 6, 2024, Taiwan’s Ministry of Labor (MOL) published the revised Regulations for Governing Designating and Handling of Priority Management Chemicals, with some structural adjustments and editorial changes compared to its proposed draft. Japan, South Korea, India, Australia and New Zealand By NICS Notice No. 2024-45, South Korea’s National Institute of Chemical Safety (NICS) is soliciting public comments on the hazard evaluation results of existing and new chemical substances registered under K-REACH. These registered and assessed substances were issued with English names, CAS No., corresponding hazards, classification and labeling information, as well as the determination of whether it is classified as toxic chemical. European Union and United Kingdom On June 27, 2024, ECHA’s Member State Committee (MSC) has confirmed the addition of one hazardous chemical to the Candidate List of substances of very high concern (SVHC). The list now contains 241 entries, some of which are groups of chemicals so the overall number of impacted chemicals is higher. (Read more)

North America On June 5, 2024, the Governor of Connecticut signed into Senate Bill 292 (Public Act No.24-59), which is titled "An Act Concerning The Use Of PFAS In Certain Products". This PFAS Act shall regulate PFAS in a wide array of consumer products through notification, self-declaration labeling and eventually phase out all uses. (Read more)
