China On June 16, 2025, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) issued the Announcement on Customs Inquiries Regarding Export Control of Dual-Use Items (GACC Announcement No. 123 of 2025). The new policy strengthens export controls on dual-use items, enabling customs authorities to issue inquiry notices for exported goods lacking permits but showing evidence that they may fall under export control regulation. Asia-pacific region On June 14, 2025, the Vietnam National Assembly voted to approve the Law on Chemicals (amended) with an overwhelmingly high level of consensus. Among 445 deputies who cast their votes, 442 deputies (accounting for 92.47%) voted in favour with no dissent recorded. (Read more)

On June 25, 2025, European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) introduced three hazardous chemicals to the Candidate List of substances of very high concern (SVHC). The list now contains 250 entries, some of which are groups of chemicals, so the overall number of impacted chemicals is higher. (Read more)

United States and Canada On June 23, 2025, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) updated the effective date for certain provisions of TSCA Risk Management Rule for trichloroethylene (TCE).
